general & what to expect from us
lalaland is a gpsl (invite only after first adds) and is here to provide a faux celeb home for those looking to focus on ic development. small or big, lalaland is only interested in dedicated members with friendly and welcoming attitudes. you can expect a lot from this gpsl if you join and strive to be an active part of it. we plan on implementing many activities including regular gossip, tabloid and rumor posts, auctions, ffas, events & more. we will work on being fair to all members.

please avoid ooc drama! be friendly, courteous and open-minded. we would love to see a lot of ic drama, so don't take things personally ooc. we welcome characters that are down to earth, crazy, unstable, shy, jerkish or maybe even a bit of everything. we don't want anyone being scared of branching out here so we ask you to leave your worries behind and just concentrate on your character.

applying & bios/facts
applying is pretty simple. we do require your character's filmography first. whether you want to make a directory in neocities, put it up in your ooc post or host it somewhere else, that's all up to you. your journals should be ic with no extra letters, numbers or underscores. make sure that your credits are public when you apply so that we can properly get them added to the directory asap. we do require examples and we will check them. we will look at narratives and scenes only. please provide at least one of each but we welcome more if you got it. make sure you have both an ooc and friend's only post up. please don't apply if you haven't looked over our taken list or our credits directory.

we do not require a biography or list of facts when you apply. however, we do require it two weeks after you've been added. you can give us a basic biography or 6 to 10 detailed facts about your character. we suggest having the basics down when you do apply (age, hometown, etc) just for the sake of being able to discuss lines. failure to provide these two weeks in will get you removed. to re-apply you will need to have them done.

activity
we are very laid back when it comes to updates, but we want to see some effort. you have an entire month to update so we should see a little more than a picture linked to a youtube video. writing based updates (narratives, hover narratives, entries, interviews, etc) are preferred. visual updates are accepted but ask that you include a writing aspect to them - whether it's a hover or a small narrative/description to occupany that's fine. we don't have a word count and ask you to use your best judgement when updating. these rules are subject to change if we feel the need for it in the future.

updating and then disappearing for a month until your next update is unacceptable here at la la land. you must post one thing on the fp every month, whether it's a your intro, question post, activity of any kind, etc. it should be interactive and you should be replying to the comments. all posts with a majority of the comments replied to will count for your interaction activity. any posts with less than 75% of the comments replied to will not count as your activity. if you post an intro and never reply to the comments, you'll be removed as if you never posted one at all. things come up and shit happens, we totally understand that which is why you can comment us any time to let us know you can't reply to your comments for a few days. as long as you let us know and come back to them, you won't be removed.

credits
although we don't want to smother creativity, we will be looking for realism within credits. we won't be total sticklers for the five year rule because we understand that hollywood itself can get illogical with actors ages, but we heavily suggest using it as a guideline. if a younger character wants to take a teenage role that was played by a thirty year old actor, that's okay; if a twenty-something character wants to take half of leo dicaprio's filmography then we would of course draw the line. please use other logical boundaries, most actors and actresses haven't won multiple oscars, emmys, etc. it does happen but it's rare, so when planning a character out, keep those kinds of things in mind. we have a no tolerance policy for whitewashing, though we are more amenable to seeing poc characters with credits originated by white celebrities if applied realistically.

if playing a musician or professional athlete we ask that you stick to one claim. directors, writers and producers can lift from a few sources, as long as these sources aren't wildly different in style. if you have any questions about credits just ask and we'll be happy to let you know our thoughts.
